Cape Fiolent in the legendary city of Sevastopol is the site Jana
Nedzvetskaya has chosen for her unique fashion show of s/s 2016
collection #ForACleanerWorld. Jana and her team spent a week before
the show cleaning up Cape Fiolent. And once at the catwalk, models in
airy, weightless flowing dresses walked the edge of the cliff against
the picturesque Fiolent scenery, picking up bags of trash collected
during the cleanup and loading them onto a truck.
A week before the show, Jana and a team of her associates drove from
Moscow to Crimea. The team stopped by the roadside markets, truck
stops and in random places along the road to clean up the trash. They
were warmly welcomed by the locals, many of whom were eager to join
#ForACleanerWorld movement. Ordinary people helped remove plastic
bottles, broken glass and cigarette butts. For the first time in
history, a seasonal fashion show was combined with such an important
event.
The fragility and beauty of Jana’s models was highlighted by huge
trash bags with #ForACleanerWorld hashtags.
Artists from VORONA beauty studio designed unique makeup specifically
for the show, with Jana adding the finishing touch – three grey
stripes on the right cheek, which became the symbol of
#ForACleanerWorld movement on the models’ delicate faces. Together
with all other participants, fragile models cleaned up the shoreline
at Cape Fiolent after those who have not learned to clean up after
themselves and keep polluting our planet. Coupled with dramatic sunset
and emotional music, the power and the scale of the international
movement #ForACleanerWorld became particularly clear.
Music has always played a special role in Jana’s shows. A mix of crisp
and tender soundtracks from iconic movies and David Garrett’s epic
improvisations emphasized the urgency and scale of domestic waste
pollution issue for the planet. Long before the show, residents of
Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as guests of this marvelous resort,
were invited through social networks to clean the world’s most
beautiful place that is Cape Fiolent.
Jana and her team took the action very seriously, purchasing rakes and
tongs for collecting cigarette butts. All participants were provided
gloves and trash bags. All this was brought in from Moscow, loaded in
the cars by those courageous enough to join us in support of the
international movement #ForACleanerWorld.
Jana has shown incredibly beautiful long dresses of French brocade and
Italian jacquarette embroidered with golden flowers, sheer bomber
jackets with applications matching skirts of complex layered New style
gaufre. Amazing dresses of Milano lace with long trains creating
illusion of miniskirts adorned the collection, while white cotton
dress embroidered with famous Belgian lace using 19th century drawings
left no guest indifferent.
Jana Nedzvetskaya’s seasonal collections are always a surprise for her
fans. Following a spectacular underwater demonstration of Harmagedon.
Psalm 39:16, which scored more than 15,000,000 views in social
networks, Jana decided to improve the world around her. Here is what
journalists have to say about her: “Jana is a storm, a hurricane and a
rush altogether”. Nothing can stop her in her tracks.
#ForACleanerWorld will continue as long as at least one cigarette butt
remains on the ground of our green planet.
